I officially founded the travel company NAMIBIA-ECO-TOURS on April 13, 2018. The company was registered in Windhoek as a Close Corporation (CC) by the Business and Intellectual Property Authority. Since 2019, the CC has also been registered with the Namibia Tourism Board. The idea for NAMIBIA-ECO-TOURS originally came from my studies in biology and geography in Namibia. At that time – between 1997 and 2000 – I was the first full-time student from Germany to complete a bachelor's degree at the University of Namibia. With my tours, I want to share my enthusiasm for Namibia's nature and ecology with interested visitors.

An unforgettable adventure in the Namib Desert! Our journey through Namibia's breathtaking landscape was a real highlight. Particularly magical: the sundowner on the glowing dunes in the NamibRand Nature Reserve – a moment we will never forget. A fantastic experience in a magnificent, vast country. Anyone who wants to travel individually in a small group will definitely get their money's worth. Our guide Stephan knows the country and its people very well. Every animal and every plant is explained. Thanks to Stephan's excellent optics (Swarovski spotting scope), we were able to experience roaring lions up close early in the morning at the waterhole in front of the lodge and later a rare brown hyena with prey for its young. In the evening, relax in the lodges and watch the sunset with a cool local drink... what could be better? Jörn

We were traveling with Stephan as newcomers to Africa. The experiences during this time were very intense. As an animal lover, I eagerly anticipated every encounter! ...and I was not disappointed! The elephant safari in the dry riverbed of the Ugab was particularly special for me. After talking to locals, Stephan quickly rescheduled the safari, which was supposed to take place elsewhere, and it was a complete success. A whole morning in the middle of a huge herd of elephants with young calves... it doesn't get any better than that!!! Thank you so much, Stephan!!! Nicole

Our first trip to Africa was organized by our guide Stephan, who spotted animals during the drive that we would certainly have overlooked, and repeatedly impressed us with his profound knowledge of the fauna, flora, and geology of Namibia's unique landscape. The trip with our small group of four people and Stephan, and the individual attention he gave us, made the tour through the breathtaking and expansive landscape an unforgettable experience, from the red dunes of Sossusvlei to Etosha National Park. Our highlights were a jeep tour into the sunset in the NamibRand Nature Reserve, the wild bush elephants in Twyfelfontein on the Aba-Huab River, and so much more. If you want to experience Namibia in a unique way, Stephan is the best person to turn to. He can introduce you to unique accommodations and places that are not included in package tours. Thanks to his years of experience and contacts, which he has gained and built up through his work in Namibia, he is able to give you a personal insight into this vast country. For example, we were able to experience a canyon dinner at Chris Farm in Donkerhuk, which is hard to beat in terms of lasting impressions. We enjoyed a meal prepared by Chris himself in a small gorge lit by torches and candles, surrounded by huge rocks. Ending the day at sunset with a cool sundowner – what more could you want? I did an amazing 10 day trip through Northern Namibia with Stephan Getzin. I am a biology Professor at the University of Cape Town and have not collaborated with Stephan. This is therefore unbiased support for his knowledge of the country, it’s plants, people, animals and geology and the friendly way he conducts himself. Even for me as a biologist, Stephan took us to very interesting places and everywhere he about knew a lot (especially of the birds and plants). Many of these places were off-the-beaten track and extremely scenic. His will not be an ordinary safari. We camped in fantastic camp sites with spectacular views and enjoyed drinking beers around a camp fire with him and discussing the day’s observations. On the other hand, he knows where the best lodges are for a top-up of comfort. Afterwards he sent me some of the pics he had taken and he is also a great photographer. If you want to experience and capture the other-side of Namibia, I strongly recommend his eco tours. Jeremy
